In
November 2000 Ron visited El Salvador as part of a short term
missionary construction team. That visit opened our hearts to the
pastors in El Salvador. In 2001 Raven hosted a retreat for 50
pastor couples from both sides of the country and two separate PK Days
for their children. In 2003, Luan answered the Holy Spirit’s call
to serve pastors and their families full time with Raven, and in June
2003 we began the first 4 ½ months of a 9 month stay in El
Salvador. The Holy Spirit gave us a simple four point plan to
encourage pastors and their families. The plan, in and of itself,
was like mud on the blind man’s eyes: alone it would not accomplish
much. But, in the hands of Yehoshua it was life changing.
Over the past 9 years, the Father has blessed us with relationships
with numerous pastors as well as their wives and children. Today,
we have three El Salvadoran men of God that represent Raven Ministries
on a volunteer basis; serving numerous pastor groups from a variety of
denominations as well as several interdenominational groups.
While in Central America during 2003 and 2004, the LORD showed us many
doors of opportunity in Guatemala, Honduras and Costa Rica, and gave us
a heart to serve pastors in all six countries. In November of
2008 we were invited to Nicaragua for the first time and returned in
2009. To date, Panama is the only Central American country we
have not yet visited.
For 2010 -
We
believe the Lord will open the door for Raven Ministries to host a
weekend seminar for all the pastors we know in the San Salvador area;
bringing pastors from the USA to encourage them. We also believe
He will continue to expand the ministry to encourage and serve pastors
throughout Central America through our team in El Salvador.
