Genesis 1:26-28
"Let Us make man in Our image”
The world tells us that our identity is in our individuality and uniqueness. But, as is typical with Satan, this is only a partial truth. The foundation of our identity is the fact that we are made in the image of God. Likeness, reflection, character, personality and qualities are all synonyms for “image.” It is incomprehensible to think that Almighty, Gracious, All-Powerful, Merciful, Omnipotent, Longsuffering,

Righteous God made us in His image; especially given our natural choices since the Fall. But He did. And, the primary ways we are made in His likeness are revealed in Genesis 1:26-28.
The first way is that we were created to be in relationship. God Himself exists within relationship. In verse 26, God says “let Us,” indicating that He is a plural Being. Yet God told Israel “the LORD your God, the LORD is One.” Although our finite minds cannot fully wrap themselves around the concept, our God is Three persons in One. In the same way we were made as part of a whole. “In the image of God He created him (man); male and female He created them (verse 27). After God created Adam He said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him” (Genesis 2:18). We were made as part of a whole; incomplete in ourselves. We were created to be in relationship. “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh” (Genesis 3:24).
Secondly, we were created to rule. Psalm 45:6 tells us “Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever; the scepter of thy kingdom is a true scepter.” God is the Ruler over all things. Likewise, He created us to rule. “Let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth" (verse 26). And the dominion He gave us is to extend to ourselves. In Romans 6:12-13 Paul tell us “not to let sin therefore reign in our mortal body, that we should obey it in the lusts thereof. . .but to yield ourselves unto God.” We have been given rule over our own will.
And lastly, we were created to give and perpetuate life. In Colossians 1:16-17 we see that God is the Giver and Sustainer of life: “By Him (Yehoshua) all things were created. . . all things have been created through Him and for Him.. .and in Him all things hold together.” And, when He created Adam and Eve He blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply. . ." (verse 28.) Like our Father, we are givers and perpetuators of life. We were created to give life in every aspect; physically-through procreation and adoption, emotionally-by speaking life into broken and wounded souls, mentally-by teaching and mentoring, and spiritually-by leading others to Yehoshua and discipling.
The foundation of our identity is that we were created to be in relationship with God & one another, to rule over the earth & ourselves, and to give & perpetuate life everywhere we go.

Funny Bone
Here is the LOST CHAPTER IN GENESIS....
Adam was walking around the garden of Eden feeling very lonely, so God asked him, "What is wrong with you?"
Adam said he didn't have anyone to talk to.
God said that He was going to make Adam a companion and that it would be a woman. He said, "This person will gather food for you, cook for you, and when you discover clothing she'll wash it for you. She will always agree with every decision you make. She will bear your children and never ask you to get up in the middle of the night to take care of them. She will not nag you and will always be the first to admit she was wrong when you've had a disagreement. She will never have a headache and will freely give you love and passion whenever you need it.
Adam asked God, "What will a woman like this cost?"
God replied, "An arm and a leg."
Then Adam asked, "What can I get for a rib?"
The rest is history..
