"Blessed are they who are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." Matt 5:10

Pastors David & Comfort Jacobs
What a most rich and humbling experience we had at the end of 2011! Along with Luan's Dad, Mom, brother David, sister-in-love Lisa and their pastor (Pastor Dan Eymann), the Father allowed us to honor two of His Precious Stewards, Pastors David and Comfort Jacobs. The fact we were able to share it with family made it even more special.
Pastor David came to this country nearly 40 years ago to get further Bible education and return to their country to establish a Bible School for Pastors. Although both he and Comfort are from Nigeria, they met and were married here in the United States. Pastor David attended the Bible College in Phoenix where Mom Preston (Luan's mom) was working. The Lord started a relationship between Pastor David & Comfort and Mom & Dad Preston that has grown sweeter through the years. In fact whenever they are in the States (they are missionaries to Nigeria under a US organization so they come from time to time to raise support) they visit "Mom and Dad". They returned to the US in September for Pastor David to receive surgery. Muslims have persecuted him for years for preaching the Gospel. And in the most recent attack they cut off his left hand, both to instill fear for preaching Jesus and to bring disgrace on him. His hand was stitched back on in Nigeria but it was not healing so he and Comfort came to the States to see if it could be saved. Unfortunately, the tissue had died and the hand had to be amputated even further up his arm to prevent gangrene from setting in.
Over the years they have suffered many setbacks and struggled to stay financially supported, as is the case with most missionaries, but have steadfastly and without equivocation continued to advance the Kingdom in their city and the surrounding area. They are amazing Generals in Yehoshua's Army. We were so amazingly honored to wash their feet and bring a word of encouragement from the Fathers' heart. Please pray for these precious Servants as the Holy Spirit brings them to your mind.
